Spare Me.

Just when I'm starting to get excited about going to UB for continuation of studies. This had to happen when I tried to register for my Fall' 09 classes...

Like seriously, WTH?!! It's not even funny.

So now, I'm just another health threat to Buffalo because I might bring malaria, dengue fever or any contagious diseases over?! Seems like I'm the only one since Will had registered for his classes successfully.

Research papers, presentations and speeches are already getting to me and this is definitely not helping.

Screw this shit.

Why Not?

There are times when I just wanna get the hell out Singapore and fly to Buffalo. I'm beginning to think that I might actually enjoy my time there. Lesser obligations, lesser responsibilities, lesser issues and more uninterrupted time to ponder about what I want in life.

I know, I'm an escapist.

What Do You Know?

Love - a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person.
In contrary to what many people think, I believe that love only hits us once in a lifetime, and sadly for some, once upon a time too.

These are some instances of love, i think.

1) You decided to take a longer route when walking her to the bus stop because you wanted to spend more time with her.
2) You did not mind embarrassing yourself for her. Eg. Record yourself singing into her phone so she can listen to it when she is down.
3) You gave her pleasant surprises. Eg. Snatch her Milo from behind and pay it for her.
4) You smsed her every minute no matter how busy you were.
5) You looked at her endearingly.
6) You bought her the school tie immediately when she forgot hers.
7) Whenever you saw any small things, you wanted to buy it for her.
8) During a 5 min water break, you ran to the provision shop to get her a chilled bottle of 100 plus.
9) When she mentioned she had a sore throat, you dashed to the provision shop during your lunch break to get her lozenges.
10) You paid for her every time you two went out because you thought it was an honor and even though your allowance was as much as hers.
11) You accompanied her when she felt like catching a movie even though you had no idea what that movie was about.
12) You met her up for movie despite not sleeping for a day in a camp and your eyes were blood shot.
13) You carried her school bag for her even if it made you look like a maid.
14) You put your school bag and hers on your lap because you cared.
15) You sent her home every time despite you staying in the north, and she, in the east.
16) You insisted sending her home even when you were sick.
17) You rushed to her when she was about to fall.
18) You stood on the side of the oncoming traffic whenever you crossed the road with her.
19) You made your way down to her house when you did nothing wrong and she was just PMS-ing.
20) You put up with her even though she was a mad ass.
21) You spoke to her about your future together.
22) You walked in the drizzle but used your clean PE t-shirt to shelter her.
23) You knew she hates the sun, so you tried to shelter her with your hands when you walked in the sun with her.
24) You always made sure she took the seat on the bus first before you sat down next to her.
25) You still think she is sweet despite all the shit she had given you.

Who Knew?

Had a long chat today. It was definitely a time of revelation. Though not all the questions were answered, at least some mysteries were solved. Come to think about it, although it has been so long, it has never been forgotten. I guess some things, you carry them to your grave.

Moral of the story - Fate loves to ridicule.

I won't break the cold turkey cycle.

What do you do?

Hi, I'm a full time student and a part time/freelance chauffeur of the Ting family. I have odd working hours and I work upon requests or phone calls. I am a diligent and thoughtful chauffeur. Not only do I help carry luggage all the way to the doorstep, I also bring food and water for my passengers in case they are thirsty.

However, despite providing such excellent service, I am not paid. So I am just a cheap/free labor. =( How sad. Maybe it is time to work for others. =P

* Anybody needs a chauffeur? If you do, please call 9_ _ _ _ _ _ _. Thank you.

Ear phones.

The first earphone I had for my Ipod nano was the apple ear phones provided. But after using it for 3 years or so, I started hearing sizzling sound on the right of the earphone. It was really annoying and irritating. So I decided, time for a new one.

I decided to get one during my Taiwan trip, and because my parents were snoring during their nights in Taiwan, I realized that an in-ear canal headphone is necessary for me to have at least some decent sleep. So off i went to search for a new earphone. As I'm not exactly an audiophile, I settled for TDK EB-300, which is pretty ok and fairly cost efficient. Since then, I'm hooked to in-ear canal headphone because it blocks out external noise. And I can turn it to a lower volume, which in turn saves my nano's battery life. =D

However, last thursday, I've realized the right side of the earphone was mute!! I guess it must be the twirling of the wires around my nano. Haiz, who asked me not to heed my friends' advices not to do that. =(

So just today, I got a new earphone and it is Philips SHE9550. It's quality is quite good, it has a cable winder and it costs just slightly higher than my dysfunctional TDK earphone. So now, I'm a happy girl. =D Hopefully it will last.

Oh Man.

You know you haven't been exercising much when your right arm ache as if you have been spiking volleyballs all evening when all you have done was, helped your friend remove her stuck camera lens from her DSLR repeatedly without success.

Yes, shame on me. =(

Till Death Do Us Part.

When I was on the road today, I saw this old lady with an amputated leg in the wheelchair carrying an umbrella. Behind her, pushing the wheelchair was an old man. I presume that the old man is her husband. He stood behind her, under the scorching sun chatting happily with her. When I saw the sight, I semi-stared. I stared not because of the amputated leg or the fact that the wheelchair has blocked my car from turning left. But because, such a sight is so rare in this cold hard world now.

It caught me wondering. How many of us can confidently say that our future spouses would be there for us when our health deteriorates. When we can no longer be part of their joy but rather part of their responsibilities and burdens? When despite their own failing eyesight and rheumatism, they would walk miles while pushing you on the wheelchair and guiding you through the way. How many of us can be this lucky?

I've never really liked the idea of marriage, but if my marriage could be as simple and yet as priceless as that old couple, I'm beginning to find that maybe I would change my mind. Haha. Surprisingly.

The Sacred Wedding Vows.

I, ____ , take you _____ , for my , husband/wife,
to have and to hold,
from this day forward, for better,
for worse, for richer, for poorer,
in sickness and in health, until death do us part.

Princess of my family.

Ok. Sometimes, I think my Sister is such a pampered girl. *shakes head And in her dictionary, "NO" doesn't exist. So in whatever she does, she makes sure NO becomes a YES. Luckily she doesn't get to face much setbacks in her life.

So why am I writing this post when I should be sleeping? Cuz my Sis is in paris now and she is considering to get LV bags. She ask me to choose one and she chose one herself. All together, both amount to 3k plus after tax rebate or something. Looking at the exorbitant prices, i told her to forgo the one I chose. But guess what? She said she likes both now. So now, she is pestering my Mum and Dad to subsidize. :( Oh man. 3k is like almost wiping my bank account clean. How can my sister decide so easily?
.

You gotta understand that sometimes, you just can't have everything you want or wish for.

Dreams = ??

I have realized one weird thing about my dreams. My distinct dreams usually revolve around things in the past. Be it the people or events from my past. Up till now, I have never dreamt about anything that is current or even anything about the future. Does that mean I'm a nostalgic person or I'm just a backward person. Haha, it beats me.

I'm blogging about this because I just woke up reluctantly from that kinda dream again. Haha I wanna let that dream continue, but too bad, it's getting late, so gotta wake up. Seems like fanasty is much better than reality. =P

*The world is full of people whose notion of a satisfactory future is, in fact, a return to the idealised past. So, what's your dream?

Little things that makes me smile!

Haha I think I have a very cute Mum. Recently, my mum has this obessession with orchids. So she will buy new orchids like every week and put it in the vase. So this afternoon when I got home from school, she told me: "See I got new orchids again, pretty right?" And whatever she said got me smiling. Cuz I remembered clearly that my Mum used to have pots of chilli and aloe vera plants. But all of them died on her within weeks. So now, I wonder how long her "orchid phase" is gonna last.

And just minutes ago, she came in to ask me whether she should change the vase or place the flowers on top of the piano, counter top or the shoe cabinet. Haha so amusing. First time I see someone racking her brains or worrying about things like that. Haha in comparison, my research papers seems like a much BIGGER problem. :(
.
Oh ya, my Mum just came in again to persuade me to have Hagan Daz ice cream, at like 11.40pm?! HAHA. funny shit.

*So which is nicer? Place your votes people! :)

Singapore student kills self after stabbing professor

Mon Mar 2, 2009 12:39pm IST

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - A final year engineering student from Singapore's Nanyang Technological University stabbed a professor on Monday before killing himself by jumping off a building, the university said. Police spokesman Ivan Choo said the Indonesian student was dead when police arrived at 1047 local time (0247 GMT), while the professor was taken to hospital for treatment. "The university is deeply shocked and saddened by what has happened. The matter will be investigated thoroughly," NTU President Su Guaning said in a statement. Violence in schools or universities is rare in Singapore, considered to be a safe place by parents from neighbouring countries to send their children to study.

* How apt. If anyone from UB were braver, spit face would probably be dead too.
